B.P: It's a pleasure having you talk to us today on your music career
DJ CY: The pleasure is all mine.
B.P: We will start first by finding out who is DJ CY?
DJ CY: Alhadji DJ CY is a young man with plenty of anxiety for music, he grew up loving music and always dream of being a musician. my real names are Nforbah Cyprian a native of Kambe in the Donga Mantung Division precisely from Ndu, where i grew up and attended my primary education. after which i relocated to Bamenda in the year 2008.
B.P: So when did you actually get into music is it the same year you over to Bamenda or it was before then?
DJ CY: I started doing music in 2015, before this time due to the passion i had for music i started meeting and visiting producers and some other record labels in Bamenda to get more insights on the profession, and they gave me just what i wanted as responses to the questions i always ask though it was never easy meeting some of those big producers at least some gave a listening hear to my questions.
B.P: Wow!! interesting, so being in the industry for over four years now how many songs do you have as of now?
DJ CY: I should say i have a whole lots of songs in my cupboard but those that are in the market as of now are six in total.
B.P: Any videos?
DJ CY: Yes i have got one video of a song i did in title "i am sorry a cover of Runtown's mad over u, which was done by Na Goddy Pro shut am" then the rest are just slide show videos, which i have been compiling.
B.P: Apart from music who is DJ CY?
DJ CY: outside music i am a hustler in the streets of Bamenda, just struggling to survive.
B.P: what has been your challenge so far in the industry?
DJ CY: Thank you for this question, the first challenge i have is lack of support from the population fans and friends, there is also lack of sponsorship since i am not signed to any record label and have nobody to manage me as of now, that's even the biggest challenge i am phasing. it is pretty difficult to work when you don't have a sponsor or a manager that can make things work for you, reasons why i have not been able to drop another video after the "i am sorry" video.
B.P: Who is your role model and who are the producers you have worked with so far?
DJ CY: I have worked with the likes of DJ Tego he has been the brain behind most of my songs and also i have worked with Cypiano who also has been giving a fine touch to most of my songs, as for my role model, Tekno is my role model i have always want to be like him, reasons why i keep fighting hard each day to see that i get to be like him.
B.P: Wow interesting, it's nice having you on board
DJ CY: The pleasure is all mine.
